Buddy Walk
In October of 2002, DSAGNO initiated the area’s first Buddy Walk to promote inclusion and acceptance of individuals with Down Syndrome and awareness of their abilities. Since then over 2500 people a year have participated in this annual event that helps raise critical funds that support programs and services that DSAGNO offers.
The Buddy Walk is an advocacy initiative launched in 1995 by the National Down Syndrome Society. It serves as a vehicle to generate significant, national awareness and understanding of Down Syndrome. As a proud member od NDSS, a portion of all proceeds from the Buddy walk go to support national advocacy initiatives aimed at improving the quality of life of individuals with Down Syndrome.
The 2013 DSAGNO Buddy Walk will be held on Saturday, October 26 at Zephyr Field located at 6100 Airline Highway, Metairie, LA. Please email info@dsagno.org for more information.
